Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using iPSYC (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and iPSYC.

2. Description of Service

iPSYC is a web platform that enables users to take scientifically validated personality assessments and to administer those same assessments to artificial intelligence models for research and comparative analysis. The Service provides scoring, visualization, interpretation, export, and sharing tools.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service to diagnose, treat, or assess mental health conditions in yourself or others.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service’s infrastructure or APIs.
  • Use AI personality results to make employment, housing, or other discriminatory decisions about individuals.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Certain features are gated behind subscription tiers (Free, Premium, Researcher). Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. Researcher API

Researcher-tier users receive API keys for programmatic access. API keys are your responsibility — keep them secure. You are liable for all usage under your keys. Rate limits and usage quotas apply.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service’s software, design, and original content are owned by iPSYC. Personality inventories are sourced from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) and the OpenScales community, which are publicly available. You retain ownership of your assessment responses and results.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Personality assessments are not clinical diagnostic tools. AI personality results measure response patterns and do not imply consciousness or subjective experience. See our Disclaimer page for full details.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, iPSYC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to decisions made based on assessment results.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. iPSYC may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
